The NBA’s global reach has provided a unique opportunity to support community partner campaigns and initiatives that are working to combat the current issues of our time. NBA Cares has supported campaigns that address social issues, including the promotion of literacy, the eradication of malaria, and HIV/AIDS education. NBA and WNBA players continue to commit their time and money to raise awareness about these vital issues in both the United States and the international community.
The NBA is partnering with Greater Than AIDS to mobilize fans, teams and local communities in response to AIDS in the United States and reduce the stigma associated with the disease.
The National Basketball Association has partnered with the U.S. Department of Education on the national Public Service Announcement for their new TEACH campaign featuring New Orleans Hornets All-Star Chris Paul.
The NBA and WNBA, in collaboration with the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine (SAHM) and sanofi pasteur, created Vaccines for Teens, a national multimedia campaign designed to educate teens and their parents about the importance of vaccination. Learn more.
The NBA and WNBA have joined the Nothing But Nets (NBN) campaign in the fight against Malaria. This global grassroots campaign saves lives by preventing malaria through the purchase and distribution of bed nets, which have been proven to reduce malaria mortality. Learn more.

The NBA is teaming up with the American Red Cross to support its measles initiative to Vaccinate A Village. You can help vaccinate children around the world. For every dollar you donate, the American Red Cross will protect another child.
In partnership with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, current and former NBA and WNBA players and coaches travel overseas each summer as ambassadors of sport, conducting clinics, visiting schools and speaking to youth. Learn more.
The Get Caught Reading campaign distributed thousands of posters featuring NBA and WNBA stars “caught reading” their favorite books at select NBA events and through Reach Out and Read pediatric centers in 50 states. Learn more.
Through NBA Cares, the NBA and WNBA are supporting the UNHCR’s ninemillion.org campaign to raise awareness and support for education and sport programs for many of the world’s nine million refugee youth. Learn more.
