Houston Rockets
Established by Rockets owner Leslie Alexander in 1995, Houston's principle community relations' effort - the Clutch City Foundation - provides hope, help and inspiration for those who might otherwise be forgotten. The Clutch City Foundation serves as the umbrella organization for all Rockets community initiatives. Through the foundation, Rockets players, coaches and staff participate in a myriad of programs that help to make life better for Houstonians - especially those in need.
TEAM PROGRAMS
The Rockets are committed to providing resources and opportunities for Houston’s youth to play basketball. From clinics-to-leagues-to supporting high school athletic programs, the grassroots basketball initiatives keep youth in the game.
Since 1996, the Clutch City Foundation Tux & Tennies Charity Gala has raised nearly $5 million. Proceeds from last year’s Gala benefited the Dikembe Mutombo Foundation, which helped to build the Women & Children’s Center of the Biamba Maria Mutombo Hospital in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
